Senior has an unstable walking gait and has high fall risk. She also has a history of heart issues and recently underwent leg surgery. She currently relies on her spouse to push her in a manual wheelchair, which is physically demanding and leaves him breathless. As a cancer survivor with high cholesterol, this adds to his physical strain. An electric wheelchair would greatly improve senior's mobility and independence as it enables her to go outdoors, increasing her social interaction while reducing the physical burden on her spouse.

Client has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia (Alzheimer’s disease) and has experienced a significant decline in both his cognitive and physical functioning over the past year. He is currently non-verbal and fully dependent on a full-time caregiver. His wife is unable to maintain employment as she needs to be his primary caregiver. Client's current existing wheelchair is no longer adequate to provide postural support. Client requires a Tilt-in-space wheelchair (16” width × 21” depth) . Given the family’s financial constraints and depleting finances, the family seeks donation for the wheelchair.
