Husband has expenses for medical care that is not covered by financial assistance. Client relies on a social service programme for side income, but the programme is ceasing operations soon, halting her income. Their children are in their schooling years and are thus not able to provide enough for client and husband. Hence the family relies heavily on financial assistance to get by, but financial assistance alone is insufficient for their needs, especially on big household items such as furniture and large appliances.

The existing bedframe at home have had their wooden base (and splinters) exposed by the child and poses a safety risk/choking hazard to the child. Father is managing existing debts and financial difficulties with adhoc household item replacements, making it difficult for him to afford new furniture. In the interim, we had removed the wooden shelvings but this has also resulted in a less sturdy structure for the double decker bed, as they had previously served to stabilise the structure.
