As both parents work odd jobs and simultaneously shoulder caregiving responsibilities for their elderly mother the television serves as an important tool to keep the children & elderly mother meaningfully occupied, especially during periods when the parents are unavailable due to work or caregiving duties. A working television can also support educational content, provide structured downtime for the children, and help maintain a manageable home environment amidst the family’s multiple stressors.
