Client is a full-time caregiver to her elderly father who has dementia and other health issues. She is facing significant hardship and is barely getting by on SSO short-term financial assistance. Informal support is limited as her sister is caring for 2 young children and paying for their mother’s nursing home fees. Client desires financial independence and thus has been actively job-searching. As her old laptop has spoiled, she requires a new one to update her resume and apply for jobs. She has little to no appetite since her treatment and requires additional nutrition to promote recovery.

The mother has lupus and ongoing health challenges, affecting her ability to provide fully for the children’s educational needs. The children currently rely on their mother’s mobile phone for their Student Learning Space (SLS), but the small screen size and limited functionality make it difficult for them to complete assignments, read materials, and type their work effectively. A laptop would greatly support the children’s learning and ensure they can participate more fully in school requirements.
