Client and her husband are looking after their 4-year-old grandson as the natural parents are unable to render care for the boy. The grandparents are facing financial hardships and have expressed concerns about purchasing milk and diapers. They are both working as cleaners and do not qualify for government assistance in view of their income and also do not receive any financial support from their extended families. FSC is working with KidSTART and the grandparents to gradually wean the child off pampers and milk. Client is staying with co-tenants and their current washing machine is faulty and produces noises when used. It was repaired a few times but it has still been faulty. Her husband is stateless, and has difficulties finding jobs. As such, the financial situation is strained despite being on financial assistance.
