Grant a Wish

Client is the main caregiver to her mother-in-law (F/72). Mother-in-law has high blood pressure, hypertension, diabetes and obesity that limits her mobility. Mother-in-law requires a large wheelchair as her current wheelchair's wheels have come out and the brakes are not working. Client's family is currently under SSO support and client's husband; the main breadwinner of the family met with an accident in September which has reduced his source of income as he is currently unable to work for long hours.

A household of 4 residing in a public rental flat in Yishun requires assistance with a wheelchair for their 79-year-old grandmother. The family consists of a 51-year-old father working as a delivery rider (sole breadwinner with limited, fluctuating income), a 49-year-old mother serving as primary caregiver for the grandmother, and their 17-year-old daughter. The elderly grandmother has significant mobility challenges, being physically weak and unable to move around independently. Her previous wheelchair has broken down, but the family cannot afford a replacement due to financial constraints. A wheelchair would significantly improve the grandmother's quality of life by aiding her mobility, enhancing her safety, and allowing her to spend time outside.

Family of 6. Mother is a homemaker due to her caregiving responsibilities and has challenges moving about as she experiences pain in her lower back and legs. Mother used to have a wheelchair which has been worn down, and unsuitable for use. Mother would require a wheelchair to aid her mobility as she heads out of the house.
